Frietha grew up in a family of artists and could always be found joyfully creating something. Frietha and her husband, Gary, raised their family on their Ashford farm. She worked as an RN and retired after 40 years. Wanting now to intentionally pursue art, she went to Eastern Connecticut State University. Frietha earned a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art. Working in a variety of medium she found pen and ink a favorite. When introduced to the Zentangle drawing method and its pen and ink work, she found it a natural fit. Frietha was personally trained by the Zentangle developers, Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts, and is certified to teach Zentangle drawing. Frietha has taught group and private classes, as well as conducted workshops. Her award winning work has been shown in numerous galleries, a museum, and is found in many private collections. Her studio, Count It All Joy, is located on their Ashford farm.
