Lisa Andrews February 9, 2025 Lisa Andrews Lisa Andrews is a lifelong visual artist and arts educator. Throughout her career she has effectively brought people of all ages and abilities together through the experience of the arts. She enjoys working in oils and watercolor and with charcoal, pastel ink and sculpture when she can. She graduated from The Art Institute of Boston in Fine Arts and Design. Lisa also attended Eastern Connecticut State University, pursuing a degree and certification in education. Lisa's work has been shown locally at Silver Circle Gallery, and The Corridor Gallery in Putnam, CT, MICAfest Mothers Institute for Collaboration and Art in Northampton MA, and at the Artists Group of charlestown/Stove Factory Art Gallery in Boston, MA. You can also see much of Lisa's collaborative projects throughout the Day Kimball Healthcare Campus, Marianapolis Preparatory School, and in many organizations and businesses in Northeast Connecticut.Currently, Lisa is an Early Childhood Program Coordinator, an Expressive Arts Educator, and a mentor for new mothers through the Hand in Hand program at TEEG in North Grosvenordale, CT. Her art teaching career began over 20 years ago: prior to TEEG, she had been the arts program coordinator at Northeast Placement Services in Woodstock, teaching art to adults with disabilities. Lisa has taught studio and therapeutic art groups at Silver Circle Gallery, where she was also the Gallery Director, at Westview Healthcare Center and The Complex Performing Arts Center. In 2012, Lisa created a successful all ages painting studio where she had the opportunity to put a brush in the hands of many people who may have never had the opportunity otherwise. She was also an eighth-grade special education teaching assistant at Pomfret Community School in the 8th grade for 8 years and in the preschool for an additional two years.Personally, Lisa and her husband are enjoying renovating their lakehouse in Woodstock and travelling in their retro RV, which has inspired much of her current work.
